Kenai Peninsula, Week 1

Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Hello my amazing family and friends.  It is Wednesday, May 29, 2013 and it is 7:19 pm AKST as I write this.  I am sitting in a local McDonalds here in Kenai because I am unable to get wi-fi where I am staying and the 3G coverage I have is a little spotty.
As of today we have completed our 3rd full day of park ministry.  Many of you know that I was originally coming to Kenai to work with another ministry with a transition home.  There were several changes made after arriving in Anchorage and when all was said and done, I was asked to work in the local park here in Kenai.  It has been an amazing 3 days with a GREAT first group.  The work we are doing has never been done here in Kenai and it is amazing to see the response we have had in just 3 days. This first week is proof that God is in control as we see His provision in every turn, His love unfolding in the lives of so many, and the needs of those we are serving being met.

I have been incredibly busy since arriving here in Alaska, every minute has been filled with work for our Creator.  It has been amazing and I still have a hard time believing that this is still happening to me. I want to ask that you continue to pray for me, God's ministry, the people we are serving here in Kenai, and the groups that will be coming up for the next several weeks.  Thank you so much for all you do and may God bless you all!

Much Love ~

Time to say bye to Kody (for 3 months)...

So much to do these past few days... last minute packing of boxes, repacking of suitcases, and the hardest part so far has been packing the pups suitcase.  In just a few hours, Kody (my dog) and I will be on a few hour journey to meet up with my father and stepmother so he can stay with them for the next 3 months.  It will be so hard to let him go, but I know he will be in good hands.

It is really hard to believe that this move is here.  So much hype with months of talking about moving, counting down the weeks, and now in only 2 days I will be heading off to the Far North.  Bye bye to the Lower 48 and hello to Alaska, the 49th state.  God has been ever present in this journey leading up to this move, and I know He will be with me every step of the way.  I can't say thank you enough for all of your prayers, encouraging words, and friendship.  They mean more to me than you will know.

Please stay tuned because I am about to be blowing up this blog!  Love you all, and God Bless!
